DOGS
FOR NATURE

If it´s there we will find it
What we do
We find what you need. We travel near and far for those who need our help. But the first step we go through is adopting maverick dogs; the ones forgotten in shelters and considered too energetic or “destructive” to be pets. That kind of energy in a dog is exactly what makes them an ideal fit to get through long and repetitive working days.
Once we have our canine partner and our team is complete, the real work begins. Upon finding a target odor, our four-legged partner lets us know they found a sample and then receives their ball/toy (their favorite thing in the world) and we, the handlers (humans who work alongside the dog), collect the sample that provides an enormous amount of data. This all comes together to create an effective non-invasive method to aid scientists in their research.
Conservation detection dogs teams are an efficient, accurate, and non-invasive means of collecting crucial conservation data. Working alongside a dog for conservation efforts is more than just a job – it is a passion. It is a lifestyle and a full-time commitment to contribute to wildlife conservation initiatives through detection research conducted all around the world. Detection dog teams are an efficient, accurate, and non-invasive means of collecting crucial conservation data, such as ecological monitoring – which consists of keeping track of where species live, population sizes, and what they need to survive
Why we do it
We do it because we love a good challenge, because we’re passionate (it’s almost like a healthy obsession, if you will). Our work is our lifestyle, and we strive to learn more about conservation, nature and new methodologies every day.
A big part of this vision, of course, is to save as many misfit dogs from shelters as possible and work alongside them on different projects. They are the ones who truly spread the non-invasive method throughout the world – we are simply here to help them reach their full potential.
Because we still believe. We believe the world can still be saved; that wildlife can still roam free and thrive; that there is time to ensure resources are better managed in order to save future generations.
Our hope is that we can also help people understand that just because a dog hasn’t been adopted, or has been repeatedly returned to the selter, it doesn’t mean that they’re a “bad” dog – they’re just misunderstood. By understanding them and by knowing how to communicate with these dogs who hold a sense of smell 100000 times stronger than humans, we can achieve unimaginable things.
Who we work with
We work alongside researchers or organizations that are contributing to wildlife conservation initiatives through detection research in the wilderness around the world. From scientists, to universities, conservation organizations, nonprofits, corporations and more, wherever and whenever we are needed, we follow.
Then we sniff out the needed data and help answer pertinent conservation questions with a high level of efficiency and accuracy. By delivering a qualified field team to researchers and citizen scientists, promoting collaboration and community involvement, we bring the conservation detection dogs method to the forefront of scientific research.
